Mt. Vernon High School Performing Arts

Well, here we are, three day's out from our first major concert on Oct. 6 and I am truly excited to hear the students sing. In all candor, that is not always the case. At times the repertoire we have selected is too difficult or has not caught the imaginations of the singers. This year however, it seems that most everyone likes most everything we are singing and are excited about the upcoming performance. What's more, the music seems to fit our voices well and that is an encourager in and of itself. This is going to be fun and I believe, a very fulfilling musical experience.

We recently held auditions for our extra-curricular ensemble Angelus and we are pleased to announce the addition of Carly Gray and Kaci Turner to the ensemble. The first major concert for the ensemble will be Dec. 12, 2009 at 7:30pm in Neu Chapel (University of Evansville). Angelus had a successful concert tour to Chicago and Northern Indiana during the month of July and are looking forward to a tour culminating in New York next summer.

I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday at 7:30pm. Tickets are $3.00 for adults and as always, all students are admitted free of charge.
